Configuration Manager 2012 and High Availability

In SMS 2003 and Configuration Manager 2007, Microsoft supported some kind of support for high availability. You were able to install for instance a Management Point multiple times in a Primary Site but you were needed to configure  Network Load Balancing to make the Management Point high available. Will this changed in Configuration Manager 2012?

Yes, you when installing multiple Management Points in a Primary Site, you don’t need to configure Network Load Balancing to make the role high available. Configuration Manager clients find the right Management Point to communicate to in the Active Directory or the Server Locator Point when one is offline.

Second, you can cluster your Configuration Manager Database on a Microsoft SQL Cluster. Third by you can also install multiple provider servers in one site.

By not needing Network Load Balancing it’s a better solution to make Configuration Manager high available. Just a small blog about one of the nice things Configuration Manager 2012 will bring.
